With 5 weeks to go, 1s marched into the game vs DAFS full of confidence and optimism but keen to ensure their feet were grounded to avoid any upsets. Jami and Arvind started strongly as they have throughout the season and TJ, Dinesh and Shehzad all played great innings to launch DTS to a competitive 193-9 off 40 overs, TJ top scoring with another 50 vs DAFS!
In response, DTs set out to dismiss DAFS for within a score of 90 to really challenge themselves. Such was the confidence and energy displayed by the bowlers and fielders that DTS found themselves on top early on with some early wickets for Kiran. Rizwan and Kiran both picked up 3 wickets apiece, Dinesh got in on the act with 2 wickets and Uday picked up 1 to wrap a resounding victory for the 1s as DAFS were dismissed for 84. A thoroughly comprehensive win and the DTS inch one step closer to their season long promotion target. The key now is to maintain this level of performance during the final month, starting with a tricky tie vs Selkirk next week; if the DTS perform similar to today, they can be beat anyone on the day!
