DTs bow out of Terrence Newcome in Semis vs Woodcutters!

18 Jul 2016

After a commendable Midweek Cup Campaign so far this season, DTs unbeaten run came to a halt with a defeat over a surprisingly well organised team in Woodcutters CC on Monday.

Dts posted a par score of 109 on a fairly slowish Newfield ground. Jamal top  scored with 42 but all the batsman made hard work of the conditions and never really got going despite the glorious sunshine!

Several batsmen got starts but weren't able to carry on and when the DTs took the field after the innings break, the Woodcutters batsman looked more at ease than us (probably as Newfield happens to be their Home Ground) and were better at acclimatising to the nature of the wicket. Kiran, Sharez, and Uday bowled well but unfortunately the DTs couldn't get the regular breakthroughs they've managed so far this season to really dent the Woodcutters line up and the opposition chased down the target in 19 overs with only 3 down.

A disappointing defeat but lots and lots of positives nevertheless and a really top effort by everyone for hanging in there till the end which will undoubtedly make us stronger for the remainder of the season and we still have at least ONE cup Final to look forward with more to follow hopefully in the shape of the Activ City Trophy. Onwards and Upwards DTs and let's use this defeat to spur us back into action in the final of the Parks next week!
