Playing on a flat, green grass wicket in East Lothian, when DT won the toss there was only ever going to be one decision. Yes you guessed it, the skipper elected to bat which appeared a blinding choice when Jami and Arvind started like a train and raced to 35 off 3 overs. Jami played superbly for a fantastic 33 and Arvind departed shortly after for a well constructed 20. The skipper and Naveen rebuilt the innings in between Dinesh's departure and found it more difficult to get the spinners away. However a great flourish at the end from Naveen bolstered Dts to 125 off 20 overs, a formidable total taking into consideration the form of our bowlers this year.
Early wickets for Jamal ensured progress was slow for Tranent and were always behind the required rate. Jami bowled a beaitufl man of the match spell alongside his earlier batting blitz and picked up 4 wickets. Other wickets for Sharez, Naveen and Dinesh at the end combined with some really good fielding and run outs helped DTS win comfortable by 24 runs. Absolutely brilliant performance and extremely clinical in all departments to reach the finals days of the Activcity Trophy!
