DTs were determined to seek revenge against Scottish Widows after the thrashing from last year by the same opposition in the same tournament. Winning the toss and electing to bat, DTs got off to a disastrous start and were 9 for 3 after 5 overs. The rebuilding job started with Sharez(24) and Naveen(15) before a scintillating innings of 46 not out by Dinesh sparked the DTs innings into action and picked up serious momentum to finish up on 105 off 20 overs, an absolutely marvellous recovery to reach a competitive total.
Nav and Kiran started off briskly and kept things tight; a series of uncharacteristic dropped catches didn't help but despite this things were kept in control due to some really good bowling. Nav picked up a key wicket of their opener Mukesh but the Widows' batsman kept rotating the score regularly. However, the key introduction of Arvind and Jami really dented the opposition with 4 quick wickets in the space of 3 overs to leave them reeling on 70 for 6 off 15 overs. Kiran came back to claim the prize wicket of Robertson and bring an end to the innings off the last ball of the 20th over with another wicket, helping DTS win by a reasonable margin in the end.
