On the first Saturday of the highly anticipated 'heatwave' month of August, DT1s were put into bat against a young and vibrant Carlton side on the artificial at Peffermill. With a lack of partnerships and any real momentum, DTs found themselves in early trouble at 50-5. Some lower order rebuilding with Sharez (40), Moazzam, Faiq (22) and Rizwan (14) lifted the 1s to 133 all out off 41 overs. 
With a small total to defend, the DTs needed to replicate last weeks fielding efforts however this was not to be with a few crucial catches dropped and a series of misfields failing to apply any pressure on the Carlton batsmen who romped home in the 35th over with only 2 wickets down. A painful defeat in a game we really could have done a lot better but nevertheless some positives with Moazzam and Faiq demonstrating their batting ability.
