Cloudy weekend brings DT victory!

25 Jul 2015

As DT entered the final league game of July, the 1s and 2s both finished the month on a high by recording victories over RHC 2s and Falkland 3s respectively.

The 1s posted a competitive 180 off 45 overs at Royal High after an early crisis which saw DT collapse to 22-3 off 15 overs. Some sensational middle order batting by Robbie (79) with a 2nd fifty for the season, Sharez (42) and Gus (25) highlighted a remarkable turnaround in fortunes. RHC managed 173 off their allocated 45 overs after a nail biting finish, with 3 wickets for the skipper, 2 for Kiran and Uday and a special mention for Tom Turpie who bowled a brilliant 9 over spell during the middle of the innings. Superb performance by the 1s in what was billed as the game of the season and pushes 1s towards a realistic chance for promotion.

The 2s hosted Falkland at Inverleith and were determined to get back to winning ways. A brilliant all round bowling performance characterised by the evergreen duo of Messiers G Weatherstone and S Coulson, bagging 3 wickets apiece bowled out the oppo for 80 in under 35 overs. They were ably supported by Taha and Naveen who also picked up a wicket each. The DTs raced to the target off 24.1 overs, courtesy of some stable middle ordering batting by the 2 N's, Naveen and Naresh. Well done to the 2s!
